E01 The New Beginning

George, who has just invited Jesus into his life, immediately needs:
1) ASSURANCE.
2) and at the same time, a VISION.
Here’s how it works for us…
„George, it’s great that you have invited Jesus into your life! The Bible shows us very interesting things what actually happened: the 2nd letter to Corinth, chapter 5, paragraph 17: „If anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away; behold, all things are new.“
This is fantastic! Through Jesus we are a new creation. He creates everything new, pure, free, healthy in us. Practically speaking, when you invited Jesus into your life:
a) You became a child of God. We have a wonderful heavenly Father who is now helping us and teaching us new things.
b) Through Jesus‘ sacrifice, we are forgiven of all our wrongs forever!
c) Jesus is always with you now. You will never be alone again! You always have someone nearby who is ready to talk with you and help you.
d) Jesus gives us a new meaning of life that extends into eternity in the nearness of Jesus…
Jesus is an amazing Savior and a good Lord. Every day I ask Him to guide me – to be my „BOSS“. And also the few things I have gained through Him, are easily remembered: Child of God, Forgiven, always With me, Purpose of Life – that’s a „mission“. And of course, there is much more!
In Jesus we are a new creation. And a little further on in the text is also this, what we became by accepting Jesus (v. 20): we are CHRIST’S AMBASADORS.
Just as I introduced Jesus to you, George, now you can introduce Him to other people. Your friends too can become God’s children, they too can be forgiven, Jesus is happy to be with them and give them a new meaning in life.
These are two sides of the same coin: This crown can remind you of life with Jesus. One side: I am his new creation. This crown reminds me that He is now my King – my good „BOSS“: I am a child of God, I am forgiven, He is always with me and gives me a new meaning of life
And the flip side: I am ambassador of His heavenly kingdom. The state emblem reminds me that I represent Him wherever I go. What a great privilege!
Even with any other coin, the bottom line is that the two sides cannot be separated: 1) I am a new creation and 2) I am an ambassador of Jesus.
Do you accept both, that you are a new creation and an ambassador of Jesus? I would love to help you develop both of these aspects of your new life with Jesus. It is a great joy!
Can you summarize that for yourself so that you can remember it well? What do the two sides mean?
1) You are a new creation: you are a child of God, you are forgiven, he is always with you, you have a new purpose in life.
2) And we are His ambassadors.“
a) And here I’m going to help George write down his friends, relatives, co-workers, neighbors, etc. meaning his own relational map.
b) A lightning story is usually the easiest thing our new George is able to learn: There was a time in my life when I was — one thing and — another thing (the negative ones). Then I invited Jesus into my life, accepted His forgiveness… And since then — one thing and — the other thing (They could easily be two things from the BOSS or however George feels about it). Do you have a story like that too?
c) In the next phase, I’m going to teach George God’s story, including drawing a bridge over the gap. And we rehearse it, as if he’s telling it to his unbelieving friend.
One George was initially saying he had no one he could reach out to. But when we started praying by name for specific people on his relational map, he introduced me to a much older colleague from work and we did Discovery!
Lord Jesus, thank You that Your Lordship frees, empowers…
