C09 Bridge Illustration – Gestures
If we can draw the bridge over the gap for our friends along with the explanation, and leave a picture in their hands, that’s ideal. Even after a few weeks, some have said to me, „I have it on my table…“
But sometimes it’s not a good time to draw. Maybe we’re standing outside in the cold and talk just for a while, or we’ve met and are walking together. But the visual element is very important for many people to understand and remember the principle of Jesus‘ sacrifice. In such cases, I like to use a representation of the Bridge over the gap with my hand – by gestures.
Have you ever tried talking to Jesus? I don’t mean religion or church; just Jesus.
1) In the beginning, God and man talked to each other normally.
2) But then man gave up on God and did things that displeased him. This created a huge gap between them, caused by man’s bad things.
3) Without God, people live empty lives. So they always tried to bridge that gap somehow. Perhaps through good deeds, religion, spiritual experiences… But none of these reaches to God.
4) But God cares very much about people. That’s why he sent Jesus, who, by his sacrifice, became the bridge over the gap of our bad deeds. He paid for all our bad things on that cross. Then God raised Him up, so now, we can communicate with Him personally again.
5) All we have to do is cross that bridge by inviting Jesus into our lives. Tell Him, for example, „Jesus, please COME into my life, FORGIVE me all that is wrong with me, and GUIDE me.“ Can you say that to Him right now?
How does it look for you? If you learn it well, it will be available to you. I have used it many times.
Let’s try it again TOGETHER. This is very important that you use you hands with me.

Just a reminder that the last part with the challenge is very important: „Jesus, please come into my life, forgive me all that is wrong and guide me…“
I’ll just point out again that to have this great tool at hand easily and naturally, we need to have it well practiced. Try this little exercise: For the next two weeks every day before going to work. If you do this prayerfully, I’m pretty sure you’ll „surprisingly“ have several opportunities to use it!
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for responding to our readiness, by opening our eyes and the hearts of those around us…
