C12 Funnel – Example
The Funnel is available in these languages: Czech Slovak Polish Ukrainan Russian English
If necessary, please revisit the previous descriptive lesson with the Funnel. Now, try to measure how much time you need to practice those few basic tools. Of course, I’m leaving out the answers of a fictional friend or neighbor. I’m just practicing what I would say from my side…Hello.
How are you doing today?
a) „It’s not worth speaking about it…“
May I ask what’s bothering you?
(I listen and ask more questions.)
Oh, that must be difficult,
when I’m dealing with something, I discuss it with Jesus and He always comes up with something,
Jesus, thank You for loving our neighbor here, and I ask for Your help with his back problem…
The positive option would be:
Hello.
How are you doing today?
b) „GREAT!“
That’s nice. What are you happy about?
(I listen and ask more questions.)
That’s great.
When I rejoice in something, I discuss it with Jesus and then I have twice as much of the joy.
Jesus, thank You for loving our neighbor here and for making his work project a success…
You know, it really works with Jesus!
There was a time in my life when I felt terribly lonely and depressed.
Then I said: „Jesus please COME into my life, FORGIVE me all the bad things and GUIDE me.“
Since then I talk to Jesus and experience His closeness.
How do you have it with Jesus?
(I’ll wait for the answer.)
Have you ever tried talking to Jesus? I don’t mean religion or church; just Jesus.
One illustration really helped me…
1) In the beginning, God and man talked normally.
2) But then the man gave up on God and did things that God didn’t like. This created a huge gap between them, caused by our wrongs.
3) Without contact with God, people live empty lives. And so they have always tried to bridge that gap somehow. Perhaps through good deeds, religion, spiritual experiences… But none of these reaches to God.
4) But God cares very much about people. That’s why he sent Jesus, who, by his sacrifice, became the bridge across the gap of our wrongs. He paid for all our bad things on that cross. Then God raised Him from the dead, so now, we can communicate with Him again personally.
5) All we have to do is cross that bridge by inviting Jesus into our lives. Tell Him, for example, „Jesus, please COME into my life, FORGIVE me all the bad things, and LEAD me…“
Tell Him that right now…
When someone prays the prayer of accepting Jesus, a card and pencil and any coin will do for the immediate next step. As part of your practice, be sure to try writing it down a few times…
That’s great that you’ve invited Jesus into your life!
Jesus is giving you amazing things right now.
When you’ve invited Him,
a) You part of God’s FAMILY as His child.
b) You are FORGIVEN!
c) Jesus is FAITHFULL, always with you
d) And He gives you FULNESS of life (a new meaning).
Will you manage to remember four F‚s what you have received from Jesus?
a) You part of God’s FAMILY as His child.
b) You are FORGIVEN!
c) Jesus is FAITHFULL, always with you
d) And He gives you FULNESS of life (a new meaning).
Which of these things is the most important to you personally?
(I’ll wait for the answer.)
Are there PEOPLE around your who need any of these things?
(I’ll wait for the answer.)
Jesus shows us that when we follow Him, it’s like a COIN that has two sides:
1) On one side, He invites us to follow Him and He will be our Guide.
2) And the other side of the coin: He wants us to help other people get to know Him, too.
Today he would probably say: „Share me with others.“ Anyone you tell about Jesus and who receives Him will also get these amazing things.
This coin will remind you of Jesus‘ invitation:
1) „Follow me.“
2) „Share me with others.“
WILL you accept both sides of this coin?
Regardless of the response, I will certainly invite him/her to Discovery.
Have you ever tried reading the Bible? I don’t mean religion or church, just the Bible….
When I read the Bible with non-believing friends, they are all surprised how interesting and practical it is.
We go through a bit together, talk about it, and everyone discovers something for themselves.
Sometimes it’s a real discovery, „Wow, that’s in the Bible, right?!“
I’m sure you’ll find it interesting too!
Get two or three of your friends together and we can try it out!
Maybe in the tearoom in the town square? Or at your house…?
How about next week, Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.?
I’ll remind you on Monday, OK?
Lord Jesus, thank you for these simple tools. Please help my friends here to master them, to use them naturally and often with unbelieving people around them…
